My digital art falls into two categories – Montages and Experimental. The montage images are born in my imagination and are brought to life by combining multiple photographs using imaging software – usually Photoshop. Most often I start with a photograph of a basic scene – a farm, buildings, sky, etc. Next the individual components are photographed, placed and resized as needed. Throughout the process careful attention is paid to perspective, proportion, light, shadows, and color matching. All the component images are taken by me. The following links explain how two of these images were created.
Recently I’ve been leaning towards making more impressionistic images. Often these are altered dramatically during post-processing, while others are made in camera. They often require creative problem solving in figuring out ways to make the images I have in mind. You will find these explorations in the Experimental gallery.
